The UCSD Ice Hockey Club is dedicated to the sport of hockey and competes in the Pacific Collegiate Hockey Association (PCHA) against colleges such as CSU Northridge, CSU Sacramento, UC Irvine, UC Davis, Northern Arizona University, College of the Canyons, Fresno State, and Santa Clara University. The PCHA is considered to be one of the most impressive and competitive leagues in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), which encompasses leagues nationwide.

The teams dedication to teamwork and winning has produced championships in the PCHA in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2006. With such success at the local level, the team has its sights set on the ACHA national tournament. With a highly inspirational coach and a young squad of skilled players the future looks bright for the Triton hockey team.
